Kicking Cancer – Melanoma
In 2024, the American Cancer Society estimates there will be 97,610 new melanoma diagnoses in the United States. Though Melanoma accounts for about 1% of all skin cancers diagnosed in the United States, it is the leading cause of death among skin cancers.
In this episode of Medical Stories, we meet Emily, a physician who cares for newborn babies. Emily was diagnosed with BRAF positive stage III Melanoma. Emily shares her story with the message that prevention and early treatment are critical in the fight against Melanoma, and how novel therapies are helping to keep her disease at bay.
