Breaking Barriers Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)

According to the National Institutes of Health, acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is the most common acute leukemia among the adult population and accounts for about 80% of all cases.

Walter said he “went from being extremely healthy to being extremely sick in about 48 hours” before learning that he had AML. After a failed attempt at chemotherapy, Walter’s outlook changes when a donor gives him the opportunity to undergo a transplant procedure – and Walter gains a “new family member” in the process.

Featuring renowned expert: Dr. David A. Sallman, myeloid section head at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.
